About Us - Chuck
Fonte
In
1996, I'd returned to Myrtle Beach South Carolina from employment
in Decatur Illinois from which everyone had abruptly been laid off.
There was not much out there in the line of work, so the decision
was made to return to college while dabbling with my PC & wanting
to learn more.
In 1998 I graduated from Horry-Georgetown Technical College (H.G.T.C.)
with an Associates Degree in Computer Technology. The entire
C.P.T. Faculty department was simply wonderful & cared a great
deal about their work & students. They were very helpful whenever
possible! Anna Gaskin especially, always giving her students a good
'kick in the butt' to help realize their potential!
During
the last semester, a final assignment was given in our website design
class to create a webpage. For an idea I decided that instead
of a simple page, what better subject to choose than finding help
in acquiring a job since I'd be graduating soon anyway! So
that's how LinkToJobs
was born!
The
site features comparisons & reviews to Salary
guides, help with resume & cover letters, interview Q&A,
employment search engines such as MonsterBoard.com,
employment security commissions (SCESC),
national newspapers,
geared towards everyone from college graduates to people relocating,
as well as many links right here in Myrtle Beach SC such as theSunNews,
MyrtleBeachHelpWanted,
technical colleges
& the entire Grand Strand area including Surfside
Beach, Little River, Conway, Pawleys Island, Litchfield, Georgetown,
Garden City, Murrells Inlet & North Myrtle Beach.
After graduating,
I continued with work in website development. All of the first
sites were contracted out by Horry
Telephone Cooperative (H.T.C.). I created these sites as
'Infinite Visions.
As everything rapidly progressed, it
soon became apparent that my own domain was needed, but all the variations
of Infinite Visions were taken, thus InfiniteVision
STUDIOS was born. The 'STUDIOS' represented the many different
studios that were available to cover the wide range of services
quickly coming into existence.
continued in operation where Infinite Visions left off in late
1999 only offering web development & simple graphic creations.
Hosting, digital graphics & basic search engine submissions
were then added.
An InfiniteVision STUDIOS website didn't exist, so a
temporary 'website' was quickly added that didn't have anything
at all to do with website development whatsoever, but instead
featured a very humorous 1-page joke... |
'Public
Service Announcement' (turn
up the speakers!)
In April of 2000...H.G.T.C. hired me as a Computer Programmer in the
Information Technology department. It was difficult, but I managed
to juggle both careers for 3 years barely keeping I.V.S. alive.
During that time, I'd made some very special friends who, without
their help & encouragement, I probably wouldn't be doing this
today. My very good friend Dianne Miles who also handled
all the photography & restoration
requests worked there as well. We complimented each other very
well, bouncing motivation & creative ideas around & continuously
learning various techniques off each other. We make a great team &
it shows in our work! She had unexpectedly & suddenly passed away
August 2003...& tragic loss.
Another person well worth mentioning is Scott McLean, webmaster for
H.G.T.C. I'd learned a great deal from him & we still work
together on projects to this day.
I can't forget my long time pal Tom
Burke, who has been a good friend of mine since the Air Force
days. He hasn't really done a thing regarding this site or the
business, but worth mentioning all the same! ;) I can mention
his site though...
During the spring of 2002, everything was becoming too hectic.
After returning to work after being out for 2 months for personal
reasons, only reinforced my realization that I wanted to create websites
full time! I knew then & there I couldn't continue on with
both careers...something had to go. My desire to pursue the growing
web business was strengthening.
Shortly thereafter additional people have come onboard who have great
expertise in their fields. Crystal Picano & Scott Mclean are wonderful
team members who contribute a great deal to every project.
THE REST IS HISTORY!
March 20, 2002 was my official last day at H.G.T.C and my 1st
day to live out my
'Infinite Vision' of fully pursuing my dreams!
Search engine submissions, Flash banners, Flash slideshows & 360°
panoramas, photo enhancements, photo restorations, domain name registrations,
maintenance/upgrades, digital photography, & more have all since
been added!
Don't get me wrong, I was scared to death! Getting everything up to
speed was very challenging to say the least...
...but I'm still here & so lives...

"It
has always been interested & very exciting for
me to be able to use my creativity & imagination
to come up with new & unique ideas.
It's extremely thrilling to take a simple vision,
born from just a thought, & carry it through from
original concept to reality during the entire website
development process. Of course taking advantage
of the dozens of tools at our disposal in creating
a full blown site sure makes it a lot easier in making
it all come alive! It's especially rewarding to see
our customers' excitement the very first time they
see their business turn interactive online!"
